Welcome to
Vintage Theatre
When thou shalt be disposed to set me light
And place my merit in the eye of scorn,Upon thy side against myself I’ll fight And prove thee virtuous, though thou art forsworn. With mine own weakness being best acquainted,Upon thy part I can set down a story Of faults conceal’d, wherein I am attainted, That thou in losing me shalt win much glory.

🎭 Vintage Theatre Reaffirms Its Commitment to Inclusivity, Community, and Artistic Integrity
Since our very first production, Vintage Theatre has believed in the transformative power of live theatre to bring people together, spark dialogue, and celebrate shared humanity. Our mission has always been to create meaningful art in a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued.
Recently, a cast member raised concerns about the political or religious views expressed on a crew member’s personal social media platforms. After a careful review and consultation with an independent third party, it was determined that the content did not violate any laws or contain hate speech. The individual maintained professionalism and respect throughout rehearsals, and therefore, there were no grounds for removal or disciplinary action.
The independent review also revealed that certain behaviors from other participants during rehearsals made members of the cast and crew uncomfortable. We acknowledge that these moments were not identified or addressed when they should have been, and we take full responsibility for improving how concerns are reported, communicated, and resolved in future productions.
As part of this renewed commitment, Vintage Theatre is conducting a comprehensive review of our internal policies and communication practices to ensure that any future concerns are addressed promptly, fairly, and appropriately—always based on all the facts. Our goal is to continue fostering an environment where every participant feels safe, heard, and supported.
Unfortunately, several cast members chose to step away during the review process. Because of this and the resulting timing constraints, we made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming production of The Taming of the Shrew.
We are deeply grateful to the incredibly talented cast and crew who dedicated countless hours of hard work, creativity, and heart to this production. While we won’t see this show take the stage, we profoundly value the artistry, collaboration, and passion that each person brought to the process. The spirit of creativity and teamwork that emerged will continue to inspire all we do at Vintage Theatre.
At Vintage Theatre, we remain steadfast in our mission to ensure that our creative spaces are safe, respectful, and inclusive for all — regardless of race, religion, political affiliation, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
In light of recent online commentary, we want to clarify:
👉 Vintage Theatre does not exclude or dismiss anyone based on personal beliefs or political affiliation, provided they are lawful expressions of opinion or words on social media platforms.
